John H. Patterson, 89, of Decatur, MS., died Monday, July 29, 2019. at J.G. Alexander Nursing Home in Union, MS. He was born Sunday, Dec. 8, 1929, in Pike County, AR.
Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 31, at the Newton County Funeral Home- North. Funeral Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, 2019, at Newton County Funeral Home- North and the burial will follow in Newton County Memorial Gardens. Bro. John was a member of Victory Missionary Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Columbus and Mary Etta Patterson; four brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Rava Patterson; sister-in-law, Ailene Patterson; and a host nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Helms, Anthony Gibbon, Eugene Johnson, Eugene Patterson, Clifton Patterson and Ricky Cumberland.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Lanier, Mark Lanier, Rick Chenoweth, Kent Addy and Paul Bounds.
