Katee Scarlett Wedgeworth, age 26, and a resident of Lorena passed away peacefully, Thursday, Sept. 26, at Lackey Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, at Burns Community Church with Bro. Doyle Boyles, Bro. Hal Daigre, and Bro Daniel Jackson officiating. Interment followed in the Burns Community Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, at OTT & LEE Funeral Home in Forest.
She was a resident of this area, a faithful Christian, wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She was a devoted member of Burns Community Church. Katee was loved by all who knew her. She never met a stranger. She had a vibrant, contagious smile and personality. She loved life, especially her son, Trent and her husband, Phil, the love of her life. Katee loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was known for her compassion for her Lord and the evidence of the fruit of the spirit were ever present in her life. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her husband, Philip “Phil” Wedgeworth of Lorena; one son, Trent Wendell Wedgeworth of Lorena; her father, Shawn (Tenia) Hawkins of Lorena, her mother, Tammitha Lynn Hawkins of Brandon; one sister, Leslie (Jacob) Shirley and one brother, Kyle Hawkins, all of Lorena; a grandmother, Sue Hawkins of Madison; grandmother, Margaret Peacock of Union; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.
Pallbearers were Ross Harrison, Bennie Hutchinson, Colby Hawkins, Thomas Harrison, Jared Jones and Richard Butler.
Honorary Pallbearers were Sam Butler, Ed McCrary, Bubba Hawkins and Roderick Hawkins.
