Services for Mrs. Laura Reeves Thorne will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 28, 2019 at Clarke-Venable Baptist Church in Decatur. Burial will be in the Decatur City Cemetery. The Rev. Mark Vincent will officiate.
Visitation will be held 4:30-7:30 p.m. Friday, September, 27, 2019 at Milling Funeral Home of Union.
There will be a visitation 10-11 a.m. prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
Mrs. Laura Thorne, 56, of Decatur passed away on Monday, September 23, 2019 at the University Louisville Medical Center in Kentucky.
Survivors include her loving husband for over 29 years, Johnnie Thorne of Decatur; two sons, Nolan Thorne (Katie) of Starkville and Charles Thorne of Decatur; father, Ray Reeves of Decatur; a sister, Susan Horton (Blane) of Decatur; a brother, Mike Reeves (Teresa) of Decatur; father-in -law, EL Thorne; a special niece, Jenny Horton Tadlock and a host of other nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Thorne is preceded in death by mother, Annette Reeves, and mother-in-law, Romona Thorne.
Pallbearers will be Nathaniel Thorne, Luke Horton, Alan Williams, Nathan Tadlock, Mickey Vance and Graham Clarke.
Mrs. Laura Thorne was married on June 8, 1990 in Tuscaloosa, AL. She was a graduate of Decatur High School, East Central Community College and Mississippi State University. She was an accountant for ECCC for 34 years and a member of the Clarke Venable Baptist Church. Laura will be remembered as a wonderful Christian wife and mother that loved doing things for others. No matter how much she had to do, she was always willing to help. She loved the Lord and always wanted to do what was right. Laura was a hard worker and always busy, but she would always take notice of the beauty of sunsets. She enjoyed traveling and spending time outdoors with her family and animals.
Mrs. Laura was a wonderful Christian wife and mother that loved doing things for others. No matter how much she had to do; she was will to help. She loved the Lord and always wanted to do what was right. She was a hard worker and always busy, but she would always take notice of the beauty of sunsets. She enjoyed traveling and spending time outdoors with her family and animals.
