Lucy Belle Parker Cook, born Aug. 26, 1934, joined her Lord and Savior face to face Nov. 9, 2018.
Lucy, known by those that knew her best as mother, grandmother, Mawmaw, Mimi and Mudder, was a true southern lady in every sense, guiding her children through their journeys, always with God at the heart of her family.
Lucy is preceded in death by her father and mother, Oliver Frank Parker and Erma Lucille Milner Parker; her brothers, James Parker, Billy Parker and Cleveland Parker; a grandson, John H. LaPeze IV; and a nephew Clay Parker.
She will be remembered by her daughters; Lynne Wood (John), Ava Lawrence (Beau), Ethelyn Ferrand and Darlene Ferguson (David); a son, Scott Cook (Kim); grandchildren, Tina Gatewood, Jamie LaPeze (Jessica), Kaitie Newman (Zach), Ashley Ferrand, Chandra Rivera (Justin), Tommy Gordon (Shanna), Chris Gordon (Ashley), Cassie White (Ben), Brittany Baker and Evan Renfroe; twenty great-grandchildren and a fur baby, Angel, her constant companion.
Lucy had a quick wit and infectious laugh. She always saw the good in everyone and every situation. She was an artist, a counselor, prayer warrior, Sunday School teacher, church treasurer and friend.
Her legacy was her children, always taking an active role in their lives, spilling over into the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved unconditionally.
Celebration of her life was at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, Miss. Visitation was held Monday Nov. 12, 2018 from 10 - 11:50 a.m. Services followed at noon at Wolf Funeral Services Chapel. Burial was at Floral Hills Memory Garden in Pearl, Miss. Officiating was Rev. Glyn Pope and Rev. Beau Lawrence.
Pallbearers were Jamie LaPeze, Chris Gordon, Tommy Gordon, Ben White, Zach Newman and Dylan Gatewood. Honorary Pallbearers were Tyler Gordon, Garrett Gordon, Austin Gatewood and Evan Renfroe.
