Services for Margarette A. Phelps will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 at Spring Hill MB Church, Union, with the Pastor Jerry Jones officiating.
Margarette A. Hendricks, at age 85 departed this life on Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, while residing at Bronsville Nursing Home, a caring and loving community in Chicago, Ill. Margarette was born to Tinsely and Ada Phelps on Nov. 11, 1932, on a farm in Union.
She was the oldest of four children and constantly nourished people around her with kind words, love, food and music. Margarette graduated from Newton High School (Home Economics was her Major). She later relocated to Chicago where she met and married the love of her life Mr. Edward E. Hendricks.
To this union were born two sons, Edward III, and Charlton and she was blessed with two daughters, Sheila and Cassandra, and a son, Marlon. Margarette’s family was complete.
She is survived by her husband, Edward; three sons; two daughters; two brothers (Tinsely Jr, and Milton), many nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins and a host of other family and friends.
