Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Sue “Biddie” Vance Fulton was conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, June 25 at Pine Ridge Missionary Baptist Church at Lawrence with the Revs. Travis Watkins, Victor Bugg and William Savell officiating. Interment followed in the Pine Ridge Cemetery under the direction of Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Forest.
Visitation was held from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, June 24 at the funeral home.
Mary Sue Gibbs was born in Newton County in the Gibbstown community on Friday, May 11, 1934. She passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018, at her daughter’s home after a brief illness.
She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who had a happy personality, living each day to the fullest. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, and always wanted to be “on the go.” She was a member of Pine Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, where she enjoyed the fellowship of friends and family.
She is preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Vance and Rodney Fulton; her parents, Clarence and Sadie Fagan Gibbs; one sister: Myrtis McCrory; and two brothers, Bill Gibbs and Charles Willis Gibbs.
She is survived by one daughter, Rita Vance of Brandon; two grandchildren, Dana Vance-Davis, and her husband, David; and Casey Vance and his wife, Linda; two great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Vance and Madeline Davis; one sister, Mamie Nester of Lake; and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Ken Crosby, Steven McGee, Mickey McMillan, James Moore, Jake Nester, Chris Nutt, Chad Parker and Chris Thompson.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Research Hospital in honor of Ian Cochran, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
