Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Stamper Ezell were held Sunday at 3 p.m. at New Ireland Baptist Church in Union. Rev. Thomas Fortenberry officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Stephens Funeral Home of Union was entrusted with the arrangements.
Mrs. Ezell, 97, of Union, passed away Wednesday at J.G. Alexander Nursing Facility.
She was a longtime resident of Union and a member of New Ireland Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Charlene Borders (Bud) and Venita Tadlock (Rodney); grandchildren, Andrea Chance (Mark), Kerry Armstrong (Chris), Dana Garrett (Todd), Wes Lewis (Laura), Sam Lewis (Traci), Claire Floyd (Web) and Kelsey Tadlock; great-grandchildren, Erin Fanquy (Chancy), Nathan Lewis, Jackson Garrett, Max Garrett and Tatum Lewis; and son, in law Wayne Herrington.
Mrs. Ezell was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ada Stamper; husband, Charles Ezell; daughter, Bettye Herrington; granddaughters, Heather Herrington and Emily Grace Lewis; sisters, Idell Richardson, Opel Matthews and Eleanor Henry; and son, in law Bruce Lewis.
Visitation was held 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the church.
