Graveside services for Mr. Murrel Talbert were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10 at Providence Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Jackie Strebeck officiating. Burial followed at the conclusion of services. Stephens Funeral Home of Union was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Talbert, 89, passed away at his residence on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018.
Murrel retired from the military as well as the Mississippi State Tax Commission. He enjoyed his work, his cats, and most of all, his family.
His survivors include his wife, Ina Faye Talbert; a daughter Teresa Nicholson and her husband, Clinton; 10 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Hand; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Lonnie "Terry" and Timothy W. Talbert; two brothers; three sisters; and a great grandson, Derrick Parker.
