Funeral services for Prudie Evelyn Fulton were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 9 at North Bend United Methodist Church with the Revs. Alan Randall and Ronnie Gomillion officiating. Interment was at North Bend UMC Cemetery with McClain-Hays Funeral Service in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Fulton, 100, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at Choctaw Residential Center.
After graduating from East Central Community College, Mrs. Fulton taught school, raised a family, taught Sunday School classes and Bible studies, cared for a handicapped daughter, and demonstrated her heritage of a green thumb by her success with flowers and vegetable gardens. An accomplished cook and seamstress, she used her talents in the church and for the public by such activities as making lap quilts for a hospice group.
Mrs. Fulton was preceded in death by her parents, James Payton and Lillie Livingston; her husband, Ernest Fulton; and a daughter, Leona Fulton.
She is survived by two daughters, Jacque Evelyn Barnett (John) and Gail Fulton; two granddaughters, Wendy Barnett and Stacey Cain; and two sisters, Hazel Ruf, Joicy Dees and Susie Lambert.
Pallbearers were Steve Nance, Mason Ruf, Keith Fulton, Sam Tingle, Billy Robertson and Jim Lightsey.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gideons, or favorite charity.
