Services for Mr. Randy Walters were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17 at Milling Funeral Home Chapel of Union with burial in the Midway Baptist Church Cemetery in Newton. Bros. Gilbert Allen, Ryan Reed and Gary Rivers officiated.
Visitation was held from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Milling Funeral Home of Union.
Mr. Walters, 51, of Newton, was born on June 26, 1966, to Donald and Fran Walters. He departed this life on Feb. 14, 2018, at Rush Foundation Hospital of Meridian. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He graduated from Decatur High School in 1985. He worked at La-Z-Boy for 27 years and then at MDOT for close to 8 years. He loved his friends, family, his wife of 23 years and his children. He loved camping, hunting, fishing, golfing and anything outdoors. He also loved his hunting dog, Daisy and lap dog, Magic.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Traci Walters of Newton; a son, Matt Walters of Newton; a daughter, Tanya Walters and Cody McMahan of Newton; his parents, Donald and Fran Walters of Newton; a brother, Scotty Walters and his wife, Dee Dee, of Newton; his father and mother-in-law, Johnny and Becky Munn of Decatur; a nephew, Stephen Walters; two nieces, Ericka and Lana Walters.
He was also survived by numerous uncles and aunts.
Mr. Walters was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Preston and Fannie Walters; and maternal grandparents, Howard and Audie Harris.
Pallbearers were Cody McMahan, Ronnie Fedrick, Doug Mayes, John Pace, Billy Watkins and Jerry Bryant.
Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Coglan, Kenneth Harris, Larry Blackburn and Andy Milling.
Milling Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
