Funeral services for Robert “Porter” Adkins were held Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church in Meridian with the Rev. Jack Kern officiating. Burial followed at Hickory Cemetery in Hickory, Miss. Robert Barham Family Funeral Home was honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.
Robert “Porter” Adkins, 32, of Meridian, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018.
He loved all things “Ole Miss” and some of his favorite memories were spent tailgating in the Grove with friends. His greatest accomplishment in life was his daughter Grace, who he lovingly referred to as Daddy’s Princess. He recently celebrated one full year of sobriety, a defining moment in his life. His sense of humor was unmatched, and there wasn’t a person he met that didn’t become his friend.
Porter will be forever remembered by his wife, Faith Adkins; daughter, Grace and unborn child; his parents, Shirley Buckley, Bob Adkins and stepmother, Melinda Adkins; brothers, Zach (Tanja) and Hayden (Madi) Adkins; Niece, Neely Adkins, grandparents, Patricia Buckley, Dixie Adkins and Dr. L.B. Adkins, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Alex Buckley, and special name sake friends, Judge L.B. and Louise Porter.
