Arthur Wayne Jones, 98, of Little Rock passed away Monday, March 13, 2023, at his residence.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Webb & Stephens Funeral Home-North, 7774A Hwy 39 North, Meridian, MS 39305, with Bro. Walter “Glenn” Scott, Sr. officiating. Interment followed in Clearman Cemetery, 1037 E.L. Johnson Rd., Little Rock, MS.
A visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at the funeral home. Webb & Stephens Funeral Home-North was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Jones served as a maintenance person at a church. He was a kind, caring and generous man. He was always willing to help anyone in need, either financially, physically or just with his support. He was loved by anyone who knew him and almost everyone called him “Paw Paw”.
Arthur cherished his wife, Annie Bell and was always supportive of her involvement in her church activities. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend.
Mr. Jones is survived by his son, Alton Wayne Jones Sr. and his wife, Virginia; his grandson, Alton Wayne “Tater” Jones, Jr. and his wife, Karen; great-granddaughter, Willa Rose Jones. He’s also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family, including a special niece and his longtime caregiver, Nancy Lou Mizell, as well as his furbabies, Penelope Jane, Yoda and Charlie.
Pallbearers were Austin Shepard, Mason Shepard, C.J. Hitt, Chris Hitt, Neal Shepherd and Dalton Shepherd.
Honorary pallbearers were Wayne “Tater” Jones, Jr. and Jason Boles.
