Graveside services for Betty Sue Bounds Henry were held Monday, September 18, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at Newton Masonic Cemetery under the direction of Newton County Funeral Home.
Rev. Dan Henry and Rev. William Savell officiated.
Mrs. Henry, age 90, of Newton, passed away Friday, September 15, 2023 at Bedford Care Center of Newton. She was a lifelong resident of Newton County and a charter member of the First Methodist Protestant Church in Newton. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Henry, Sr.; one son, Danny Henry; her parents, Rayphord Oneil and Martha Emma Parker Bounds; one brother, Jerry Bounds and one granddaughter, Katina Harrison.
Survivors include two daughters, Debra Wertz and Janet Clark (Bo) both of Newton; one daughter-in-law, Karen Henry of Newton; three grandsons, Kerry Harrison, Dan Henry and Zach Wertz; three granddaughters, Rhiannon Bethea, Krystal Slay and Katie McMillan; thirteen great-grandchildren, Corey Harrison, Mason Bethea, Carson McMillan, Mallory Bethea, Caden McMillan, John Wertz, Tripp Harrison, Lane Harrison, John Collier McMillan, Georgia Harrison, Magnolia Harrison, Zoey Wertz and Harley Wertz and two sisters-in-law, Barbara Bounds of Newton and Rebecca Boswell of Jackson; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Pallbearers were Dan Henry, Kerry Harrison, Jamie Slay, Brent McMillan, Buster Bounds, and Rayphord Bounds.
Honorary pallbearers were her great-grandsons.
The family wishes to acknowledge with sincere appreciation the professional and compassionate care provided by Bedford Care Center of Newton and Quality Hospice of Philadelphia.
Newton County Funeral Home - South Chapel, 100 Old Hwy. 15 Loop, Newton, served the Henry family.
