Carolyn Marie Harris was born on March 2, 1951, to Memphis Arrington and Mamie Kidd. She departed this life on February 28, 2205, at East Mississippi Nursing Facility.
She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Decatur Missionary Baptist Church and served until her health failed.
Carolyn graduated from Boler High, Class of 1968. She was given an opportunity to play semi-pro basketball; due to sacrifice, she chose not to. She also was offered to coach a girls’ basketball team in Texas but declined.
She worked at Midland Shirt Factory in Union, Mississippi for several years.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Harris; daughter, Kimberly Nicholson; brother, William Arrington and two sisters, Erma Townsend and Denise Arrington.
Left to cherish her loving memories are her loving daughter, Leslie (Derrin) Sims; one granddaughter, Tiffany Sims; three grandsons, Tobias Amos, Jalin Nicholson and Da’Quan Sims, all of Decatur, Mississippi; stepson, Carlos (Felicia) Harris; sister, Sherry (Rev. Willie) of Meridian, Mississippi and brother, Thomas (Brenda) Arrington of Beckley, West Virginia and a host of relatives including great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
