Elbert Warren Willis, age 86, of Newton, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Milling Funeral Home Chapel in Union, Mississippi, with Bro. John Cash officiating. Burial followed in Union City Cemetery.
Visitation was held prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Milling Funeral Home of Union.
Elbert was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a man who valued family above all else and took great pride in the life he built and the people he loved. His presence brought steadiness, wisdom, and comfort to those around him, and his memory will remain a treasured part of the lives he touched.
He is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Kilpatrick Willis of Newton, Mississippi; one daughter, Lisa Kay Lockett (John) of Pass Christian, Mississippi; one son, Marty Warren Willis (Brenda) of Houston, Mississippi; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and one brother, Thomas Willis of Amite, Louisiana. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Helen Willis, and his sister, Joyce Nicholson.
Pallbearers were Kalem Rogers, Bradley Willis, John Kilpatrick, Richard Smith, Steve Cumberland and Mason Cumberland.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all who have offered prayers, love, and support during this time.
