Services for Sister Hattie Moore were held, Saturday, October 5, 11:00 A.M., at Greater Corinth Missionary Baptist Church, with Rev. Anthony Robinson officiating and eulogy by Pastor Gary Moore. Sister Hattie Moore was born on August 5, 1949 to the late Ollie Mae Puckett in Rankin County, Mississippi. She was reared by Christell Jones of Braxton and Isabell Puckett. She was preceded in death by her mother, Ollie Mae Puckett; sisters, Ruth Puckett, Elaine Puckett, Teresa Puckett-Scott and Eloise Mclaurin; brothers, Horace Walker and Roy Skinner, and Hermon Skinner.
Hattie confessed Christ at an early age and joined the Rose Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She served as a missionary and pastor’s wife of Taylor Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Braxton, Mississippi, New Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church in Crystal Springs Mississippi, Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Magee, Mississippi and Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Soso, Mississippi. She served in many choirs and was a Sunday School teacher.
She received her education from Harper Vocational High School in Mendenhall, Mississippi as well as Jones Junior College in Ellisville, Mississippi. She worked for many years at Magnetek of Mendenhall, Mississippi and Ellisville State School in Ellisville, Mississippi.
Hattie transitioned into the arms of the creator on Friday, September 27, 2024, at Bedford Care Center in Newton, Mississippi.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her sons, Pastor Gary L. Moore (Dionne) of Newton, Mississippi and Tarry L. Moore (Tanya) of Bryan, Texas; sisters, Mattie Money of Moss Point, Mississippi, Betty Puckett of Las Vegas, Nevada, Stella Taylor (Richard) and Juanita Puckett of Pearl, Mississippi; one brother, Virgil Puckett of Pearl, Mississippi; eight grandchildren, Bryceon, Landon and Ashton of Bryan, Texas; Javier, Amarius, Keidriunna, Lillian and Aidan all of Newton, Mississippi and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Arrangements and Services were entrusted to Dunlap & Thames Funeral Home, 103 New Ireland Street, Newton, Mississippi 39345.
