Funeral services for Mr. James Crotwell were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Union Church with burial in Golden Grove Cemetery. Rev. Melissa Crawford officiated. Visitation was held 9 a.m. - 11 a.m., October 25, 2025 at Union Church.
James, age 78, of Union died October 21, 2025.
He spent his career teaching high school science, coaching junior high and high school sports, and officiating high school football. One of his joys in life was serving as a Methodist certified lay speaker. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time in nature.
He is survived by his wife, Denise Crotwell; daughter, Beth Stevens (Daniel); grandchildren, Emma Stevens, Caleb Stevens, Alex Stevens; brother, Ronald Crotwell (Gracie); sisters, Shelia Ross, Celeste Crotwell Spier (Tom), Bridgette Pullis (Rob); brothers-in-law, Dr. Rob Loper (Lisa) and George Loper (Jamie). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Union Church, P.O. Box 316, Union, MS. 39365.
Pallbearers were Ronald Crotwell, Tony Crotwell, Eric Crotwell, Mike Bowman, Rob Loper and George Loper.
Milling Funeral Home of Union was in charge of the arrangements.
