Services for Mr. James “Jimmy” Driskell, Jr. were held Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Pine Grove Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Bro. Rusty Walton and Bro. Lin Chesney officiated.
Mr. Driskell, age 78, of Union died Sunday, September 07, 2025 at his residence.
He was a 1965 graduate of Union High School. He was a U.S. Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Phuloi Village during Vietnam. Mr. Driskell retired after 30 years from Marshall Ford. He was also a faithful member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Dawn Driskell; son, Nick Driskell; sister, Carolyn Breland; brothers in law, John Smith (Terry) and Tommy Smith (JoAnn). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Driskell is preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Clara Stokes Driskell; two sisters, Billy Fae Driskell and Betty Jo Barham and one brother, Gerald Driskell.
Pallbearers were Bud Warren, Scott Hodges, Thomas Knight, Kelly Barham, Michael Smith, Billy Pat Walker, Larry Driskell and Matt Smith.
Honorary Pallbearers were the UHS Class of 1965 and “Steve Nelson” Sunday School Class.
In lieu of flowers, Jimmy’s family requested that donations be made in his memory to Pine Grove Baptist Church, 13281 Hwy 492, Union, MS 39365.
