Funeral services for Malcolm Lawrence Payne were held, March 7, 2025 at 1:00 p.m., at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Newton, Mississippi.
Malcolm Lawrence Payne was born August 3, 1962, to the late Mary Jewel Payne Bell and Jimmy Lee Bell in Newton, Mississippi. He departed this life on February 25, 2025, at Anderson Hospital.
Malcolm was united in marriage to Shirley Billups on May 12, 2018.
Malcolm graduated from Newton High School, Class of 1980. He live in Orange, Texas for a while with his parents before returning back to Newton.
Malcolm was a loving, friendly and kind-hearted person that always kept a smile on his face. He loved cooking. Malcolm had began studying the Bible to dedicate his life to Jehovah God.
Malcolm is preceded in death by his grandmother, Charlotte Payne; grandfather, Robert V. Payne; three aunts, Bettye Payne, Lubertha Pickens and Waltereen Payne; five uncles, Thomas Love (Junior), Robert Payne (Joe), Walter Curry, Willie Payne and Henry Evans.
Malcolm leaves to cherish is precious memories, a loving and devoted wife, Shirley Payne; seven sisters, Rhonda Jones, Charlotte Nicholson, Janice Bell, Gadalliah Cook, Debbie Marshall (Jeffery), Myra Lindsey and Dewanna Bell; two brothers, Robert Croff (Toni) and Michael Bell; three stepchildren, Denise, Amanda and Johnny Lee Wilson, Jr. (J.J.); three aunts, Charity Walker (Larry), Mary Alice Craft and Stephanie Payne; three uncles, William (Lucky) Payne, Clavin Payne (Josephine) and Vincent Payne (Michelle); a goddaughter, Tish; a close friend, Randy (Fotoe) Wheaton and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
