Mary Crosby Baucum, age 90, a resident of Decatur, passed away Sunday, January 28, 2024 at J.G. Alexander Nursing Home. She was born Saturday, December 9, 1933 at the family homeplace at Lake.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 11:30 A.M. at Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Rev. William Savell will officiate.
Mrs. Baucum was a devoted wife for 67 years, who loved her family very much. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church and a retired seamstress at the Newton Company. She will be missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Franklin Baucum; her parents, James Franklin and Minnie Sessions Crosby; an infant brother, James Sidney Crosby, and brother-in-law, Doyle McGee, and numerous brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
Survivors include her daughter, Anita Baucum Marshall (David) of Decatur; two grandsons, Daniel Marshall (Ashley) of Palm Harbor, FL and Andrew Marshall (Brooke) of Pensacola, FL; two great grandchildren, John Archer Marshall and Everly Rose Marshall, both of Palm Harbor, FL; one sister, Dorothy McGee of Union; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Newton County Funeral Home - North is in charge of arrangements.
