Funeral services for Randell Edward Nelson were held Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 1:30 pm at Newton County Funeral Home – South Chapel. Burial followed in Pine Ridge Cemetery. Bro. Victor Bugg and Bro. Mark McDonald officiated.
Mr. Nelson, age 65 and a resident of Newton, passed away Monday, January 6, 2025.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin Edward and Nellie Ruth Gibbs Nelson.
Survivors include his one sister, Martha Sibley (Henry); two nephews, Aaron Sibley (Brooke) and Brian Sibley; one great-nephew, Jace Sibley and one great niece, Maggie Sibley.
Pallbearers were Steven Copeland, Sam Thames, Jimmy Welch, David Mabry, Richard Luke, and Billy Copeland.
Honorary pallbearers were Frank Leatherwood, Johnny Coghlan, and Ronnie Blass.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Pine Ridge Cemetery Association, 2750 Old 80 Rd., Lawrence, MS 39336.
Newton County Funeral Home – South, 100 Old Hwy. 15, Newton was in charge of arrangements.
