It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ginger, a beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, who left us peacefully on June 23 in Decatur, MS.
Born on April 16, 1952, in Natchez, Ginger was a dedicated school teacher of 33 years who loved every student who stepped into her classroom and lived a life marked by kindness, resilience, love for her family, and dedication to Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Joe of 48 years; son ,Jake (August); daughter, Nikki Cheatham nee’ Way (Matt); grandkids, Corey Harrison, Adilyn Way, Aidyn Way, Alden Way, Mason Cheatham, Maddux Cheatham, Macklin Cheatham and Margaret Cheatham; brothers, Bubba (Mary) and Joey Brady (Ben); and sister, Pat Tannehill (Jon).
A celebration of her life was held at Clarke Venable Baptist Church in Decatur, Wednesday, June 27 at 10:00 A.M. with service immediately following. Burial was in Decatur Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to any non-profit research Amyotrophic Lateral Scerosis (ALS) organizations or non-profit patient assist organizations like teamgleason.org of whom the family owes many thanks.
Her legacy will continue to live on in our hearts and memories.
