Wilma Jean French Wilson, 95, of Hattiesburg, died May 21, 2025, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Visitation will be held at Milling Funeral Home, Union, Mississippi, on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 from 1:00-2:00 p.m.
A graveside service will follow in the Lucern Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. Bro. Rusty Walton will officiate.
Mrs. Wilson was born in Union, Mississippi and was a graduate of Conehatta High School. She began her career after high school in Memphis, Tennessee for Southern Airlines, and finished her career as an Administrative Clerk and Bookkeeper with Jackson Safe and Lock in Jackson, Mississippi.
Jean was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Wiggins, Mississippi. After retirement, she enjoyed day trips with her Hummingbird Club friends, playing Bunco, shopping and was a member of the Lifelong Learning Institute at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. Jean enjoyed traveling and spending time with her friends.
Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband John Wilson; parents John Oliver French and Grace Mae French; and sisters Flossie Cooksey Payne; Mary Leach and Jonnie Thomas.
She is survived by her son, Jeff Donahoe (Brenda) and daughter, Cindy Smith; three grandchildren, Cameron Smith (Mary), Destin Smith (Brianne) and Katie Weldon (Ben); four great-grandchildren, Kaplan and Silas Smith, Waylon Smith and Annie Weldon.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the Crescent Landing Assisted Living family; the Transitional Care Unit at Merritt Health Wesley and all those who cared for Jean during the last years of her life.
Milling Funeral Home of Union was in charge of the arrangements.
