We hope you had a chance to participate in the box disposal campaign sponsored by the Newton Police Department.
During the week between Christmas and New Year’s, the department was able to obtain a bin to contain those Christmas gift boxes so that residents wouldn’t have to put those boxes out at the road if they were unable to break them down and bag them.
By that little bit of forward thinking, that may help prevent a few break-ins in our area.
This isn’t the only thing our local law enforcement in our county has done to help prevent crime throughout the year, but each department has done their own thing to help make the residents of our county safe. We applaud their efforts, and we encourage them to continue to think outside the box for ways to help keep our community safe.
