The Hornets will open the Class 2A playoffs at home against the Dragons from Pisgah.
Lake finished as the No. 2 seed out of Division 5-2A. Pisgah was the No. 3 seed out of their division 6-2A.
Pisgah has wins over Richton (7-0), Pelahatchie (27-14) and St. Andrew’s (26-20). They have losses to Bogue Chitto (17-7), Sebastopol (22-6), Natchez Cathedral (45-24), Richland (39-20), Puckett (35-13), Velma Jackson (35-0) and Scott Central (49-0).
“We have played them for four straight years,” Lake coach Tate Hanna said. “They are a run-heavy football team and will play good defense. I think they have come on in the later part of the year. They have a bunch of new starters and are starting to click. I expect it to be a good game. Since I have been here, they haven’t beat us and I’m sure they will get that thrown at them this year.”
