Q: What is your primary motivation for running for public office? |
| A: My goal in running for office is to be a voice for all citizens in the Senate. District 31 has been a strong district in years past, and I am motivated to keep District 31 moving forward by tackling the problems head on. |
A: For the last 7 years, I have been actively working alongside the Department of Insurance, helping to get legislation passed that would improve our state. As a senator, you have to be open-minded and be able to reach out to your constituents in a time of making decisions. |

Q: What do you hope to accomplish if elected? |
| A: If elected, I hope to work with our local governments to tackle this issue of our crumbling infrastructure. I hope to focus on bringing more solutions to this problem so we can keep existing business and bring more jobs for our citizens in East Mississippi. |
A: There are several needs I would like to address if elected including public education, infrastructure, advocation for agriculture and promoting small business in our area. Also, other areas such as economic development, workforce development, all aspects of health-related issues, road and bridges and state parks. |

Q: What do you believe most qualifies you for this office? |
| A: I believe my service as an attorney most qualifies me. I have been trained to read, draft and interpret the law and have done that for over 12 years. Additionally, I see the problems in our district firsthand through my practice, and I am prepared to work on them. |
A: I have been actively working in politics for the last 7 years. I have been self-employed for 39 years. I have learned so much from my time spent at the capitol, and I know I can make a difference for Mississippi. |
| Q: From the perspective of the office you are seeking, what is the single most important issue facing your position in Newton County? |
Q: From the perspective of the office you are seeking, what is the single most important issue facing your position in Newton County? |
| A: Infrastructure. Newton County, and all of the municipalities here, are struggling to deal with crumbling bridges, deteriorating roads and aging public services. To continue to grow, we must tackle those needs of our counties. |
A: As a conservative Christian who is prolife, my main concern is education. Although I am a republican, I support public education 100 percent. In relation to the recent teacher pay issue, I feel as through the teachers and special needs program did not receive full funding as needed in order to recruit and retain highly qualified teachers. |
| Q: What role to you see the office you are seeking playing in the lives of Newton County residents? If elected, how would you fulfill that role to provide the best possible service? |

| A: Just as my law office has been a resource for all people in the area, it is my goal for the Senate seat to be a resource for the citizens of District 31. It is crucial for you to feel as though your senator is approachable and knowledgeable. As your senator, I will strive to be just that. I pledge to keep my current law practice open and be accessible to individuals to come to voice their problems and praises. I will be accessible, approachable and helpful for all citizens as we continue to move East Mississippi forward. |
A: In looking toward the future of our district, my role will be to advocate for the small businesses, industry and, of course, education.
In order to fulfill this role, I will have an open-door policy. Further, I will stand in the gap for ALL residents in District 31. I plan to visit all of our local schools, small businesses, large industries in order to identify areas of need and concern. I will bring these issues to the Senate floor, and I will make a difference for our district.
