With the start of a new school year just around the corner, Union Public School is inviting families, students, and community members to take part in several meaningful events designed to build connection and support for the year ahead.
The first event will take place on Sunday, Aug. 3, when First Baptist Church of Union hosts its annual “Prayer Walk.” The walk will begin at 5 p.m. on the front steps of Union High School and will focus on lifting up students, teachers, staff, and school leadership in prayer. All churches and individuals are welcome to participate in their own way. To allow access for those wishing to walk and pray through the schools, exterior doors at all three campuses will be open from 4 to 8 p.m. that evening. Doors will automatically lock at 8 p.m.
On Monday, Aug. 4, Union Public School will hold its annual Open House from 4 to 6 p.m. This event offers families a chance to meet teachers, explore classrooms, and ease the transition into the new year. School officials note that student registration will not be conducted during Open House. Registration must be completed by end of business day on July 30.
Finally, the excitement of a new academic year will officially begin on Tuesday, Aug. 5, as Union students return to the classroom for the first day of the 2025–2026 school year.
