United States Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS) recently announced The U.S. Department of Agriculture has awarded $19,358,006 in grants and loans to connect thousands of rural residents, farmers and business owners in the MS Second Congressional District to reliable, affordable high-speed internet through the ReConnect Program, funded by President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. This program is uniquely designed to fund the most difficult high-speed internet projects in the nation, which are the most rural, remote and unserved communities.

This Rural Development investment will be used to deploy a fiber-to-the-premises network to provide high-speed internet. This network will benefit 1,827 people, 47 businesses, 77 farms and seven educational facilities in Washington County in Mississippi. TecInfo Communications LLC will make high-speed internet affordable by participating in the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) Affordable Connectivity Program. This project will serve socially vulnerable communities in Washington county. |

The project is titled “Canopy Children's Solutions School-Based Mental Wellness Expansion Project.”
