USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is seeking to partner with and support the efforts of natural resource conservation partners and to promote public awareness and implementation of Farm Bill activities including, but not limited to, conducting conservation outreach workshops, conferences and training that will help educate the Mississippi farming community, private landowners, conservation organizations, cooperating agencies and general citizenry. Proposals must be for projects based in Mississippi and must focus on Farm Bill conservation. Collaborative projects that provide on-the-ground support for Mississippi NRCS field offices are highly encouraged. Research proposals will not be accepted or considered as part of this announcement.
Proposals will be accepted from eligible entities, individuals, non-profits, governmental or non¬governmental organizations, federally recognized Indian Tribal organizations and institutions of higher learning for competitive consideration of awards for projects between one (1) and five (5) years in duration. The funds available for this announcement is $3,000,000.
This notice identifies the objectives, eligibility criteria, and application instructions. Proposals will be screened for completeness and compliance with the provisions of this notice. Incomplete and/or noncompliant proposals will be eliminated from competition and notification of elimination will be sent to the applicant. The Mississippi State Conservationist reserves the right not to fund any or all applications. NRCS will accept applications under this notice for single or multiyear applications submitted by eligible entities. Individuals and entities may submit more than one application. Individuals and entities may receive more than one award.
The deadline for submitting questions for the announcement is June 24, 2019 and the date responses to the questions will be posted is July 1, 2019. Applications must be submitted by July 8, 2019. Applicants will be notified of their selection by August 5, 2019, and awards will be made on or about September 1, 2019.
