FOOTBALL: Bobcats finish preparations as they head to Nanih Waiya for jamboree

Sebastopol football coach Keith Brown said there is already a buzz around campus about the football team.

The Bobcats finished their second week of practice and their first week in pads. Brown said all things went well except for the heat which coaches are having to check on a regular basis.

There were no real surprises for Union football coach Jordan Wren this past week.

Wren said the Yellowjackets finally strapped on the pads and finished the week with a scrimmage on Thursday and film-watching on Friday.

The Newton County Academy Lady Generals had a good week on the softball diamond.

The Lady Generals opened the week on Monday with a 12-0 win over Winston. Then on Saturday, NCA beat Central Hinds 5-0 and Briarfield 11-1 while tying Clinton Christian 5-5.
