NCA tennis sees four players head to MCC

Five players from Newton County Academy are headed to play college tennis.

Four of those five players recently signed to play at Meridian Community College.

Seniors Lilly Hollingsworth, Reed Terrell and Chris Chertkow all signed to play at Meridian, which finished the past season as the No. 17th ranked program in the country.

Football: Union faces brand new region in return to Class 2A

And as McNichols has gotten bigger and stronger, the college offers have been pouring in for the 6-foot-1, 215-pound all-purpose player.

Baseball: Hanna takes home all-star MVP honors

As soon as the Lake Hornets were eliminated from the Class 2A playoffs in baseball, graduating senior Kenny Ray Hanna hit the weight room.

But Hanna had one more high school sports obligation to take care of before he officially headed off to college.
