FOOTBALL: Hornets fall in another close road game

The season of offensive woes continued for Lake on Friday night.

The Hornets had six turnovers and Clarkdale used a trick play to take a 13-6 win over Lake on Friday night.

Lake (2-4, 0-1) will host Newton on Friday night for homecoming.

Swimming: Cougars compete in record-breaking meets

On September 16, NCHS Swim Team competed at the West Jones “Be the Light” Invitational Meet in Laurel. An astounding 29 high schools attended with over 400 swimmers competing. On September 23, NCHS competed in the “Rumble on the River” Meet hosted by Vicksburg/Warren Central.

FOOTBALL: Yellowjackets dominate first district game

After a “disappointing” performance against Lake last week, the Union Yellowjackets were looking to bounce back against Eupora to open division play.

The Yellowjackets did just that as they scored on their first six possessions and cruised to a 48-14 win over the homestanding Eagles.
