The Generals knocked that rust off on Friday night as they scored 38 second-quarter points and took a 60-12 win over Kemper Academy.

The Newton Tigers dug themselves a big hole on Thursday night against Pelahatchie.

The Tigers rallied in the second half but couldn’t quite complete the comeback as they lost 48-34 to the Chiefs.

Newton falls to 1-6 on the season and 0-2 in division 5-2A play.
