Baseball: Lake Hornets Walk-off Loss, Weather Disruption, and a Win

The Lake baseball team split a pair of games last week.

The Hornets lost 3-2 in a walk-off loss to Enterprise on Tuesday and was losing 6-0 on Friday when that game was called because of weather.

Lake then bounced back on Saturday and beat Union 14-4.

Baseball: Union Overpowers J.Z. George then Falls to Lake

The Union baseball team won two out of three games last week, getting wins in the two that mattered the most.

Union swept two games from J.Z. George in 4-2A play, winning 20-0 on Tuesday and 26-2 on Friday. Union finished the week with a 14-4 loss to Lake on Saturday.

If you’ve walked down the sidewalk on Broad Street or visited businesses in Downtown Decatur, you’ve likely noticed a multitude of talented and colorful artworks gracing the windows or decorating the interior of some businesses. The impressive works of art are all part of “Arts Around Town,” an event hosted by the Decatur Chamber of Commerce.

Softball: Lake Lady Hornets Achieve Split in Spring Break Showdowns

The Lady Hornets split a pair of games, falling 10-0 to Newton County before beating Enterprise 9-7 on Saturday in their only action of the week.
