Union improves to 11-3 overall for season

The Union Lady Yellowjackets got off to a good start in region play with a pair of wins last week.

The Lady Yellowjackets opened with a 50-41 win over Philadelphia on Tuesday and then beat Eupora 49-39 on Friday.

Basketball: NCA girls rack up trio of wins

The Newton County Academy girls continued their strong play and picked up three more wins this past week.

The Lady Generals improved to 13-2 on the season as they beat Sylva Bay 53-33, Grace Christian 40-33 in overtime and the Meridian Lady Flyers 41-22.

BASKETBALL: Lady Bobcats add four wins over holidays

The Sebastopol Lady Bobcats stayed busy over the Christmas break and were able to bring home four wins in five games.

The Lady Bobcats beat Leake County 44-28 and Clarkdale 49-30 last week. The prior week, Sebastopol beat Pisgah 53-40, Scott central 48-34 and lost 49-41 to Class 4A Newton County.
