Volleyball: Union, Lake, County get final tuneups for playoffs

Local teams will be heading to the playoffs this weekend as teams are rounding out the regular season this week.

Union volleyball

The Union volleyball team clinched is district title last week with a 3-0 win over Sebastopol on the road.

The Lady Yellowjackets followed up their success with a win over Eupora 3-0.

FOOTBALL: Cougars struggle with athletic Whippets

After putting up 45 points last week against Union, the Newton County offense went the other direction against Kosciusko last week.

The Cougars managed just 131 yards of total offense as Kosciusko scored 40 unanswered points to take a 47-7 win on Friday night.
