Residents and leaders from the City of Newton participated in a Stop the Violence Rally and prayer service at Ray Payne Park in downtown Newton. The event was conducted by Mayor Antonio Hoye and other city leaders. It was planned after the events of July 6 in which Tiarra Pinkston was shot to death while sleeping in her home.
