I’m slowly beginning to enjoy a lot more nonfiction books more than fiction. I mostly like those self-help books that get you fired up about life.
My book shelf is filled with books by Dave Ramsey and Bible commentary along with books on how to not kill your spouse. As a book and coffee lover, one of my favorite stores is of course Books-A-Million.
There’s a lot shelves full of fiction books, but have you ever noticed that there’s probably twice as many shelves for nonfiction, like self-help. This is to say that we are always looking for advice in life whether it’s how to train to your dog, to surviving marriage, or how to be financially stable.
Those self-help books are super-beneficial sometimes, but we can’t forget our top self help guide. In God’s word, there contains a lot of advice and testimonies from those Christians who struggled like us. That’s the only self-help book that actual speaks to us.
My encouragement for us is to grab up God’s word and study it for answers instead of going straight to the bookstore. We can gain so much more in the Bible than we can any other book!
Continue to pray for all those working out in this heat for it is only going to get hotter as summer goes on.
And I wish all the fathers in the community a happy Father’s Day. May this week celebrate you and all you’ve done for your families!
I hope everyone has a very blessed week!
