As a psychology major, I’m very fascinated on what goes on in the subconscious realms of our minds, like dreams. Like what exactly makes us dream the things we dream, especially the weird and crazy stuff?
The other night, I had some very vivid dreams of times I endured terrible sadness and heartache when I was younger. It was just a dream that replayed some of those moments back-to-back-to-back.
I woke up Sunday morning in a very negative mood because of it.
I’m sure others have had similar experiences. Something happens that reminds you of a darker time in your life, and it just brings you down. Those dark times will forever haunt you, but the encouraging thing is we don’t always have to react negatively to them. Looking back, God had a reason for those heartaches. I grew and learned from them to be the person I am today, and it’s the same with you. Those things in the past were just a hard climbing stepping stone that lead you to where you are today.
Thank God for the moments in that they were learning experiences. And when those old scars start to hurt again, remember our great Comforter.
I hope everyone is pretty excited for Holy Week this week. If you don’t have a church home to attend, I encourage everyone to find a church and participate in an Easter sunrise service. I promise there’s nothing like it! And sometimes there’s breakfast served afterwards! Pinckney Baptist will start at 8 a.m. and everyone is welcome!
I hope everyone has a very blessed week.
