Based on information from local business people, the turn out for the first annual Union Day was quite good.
My friend and fellow Writers Guild member, Pam Hillman, had a booth there. I planned to take my copy of her book, “Road to Magnolia Glen,” to have her sign it, but I didn’t dare brave the heat. I hope it was successful
, Pam and fun!
I was glad to see Faye Phillips back up and running in the beauty shop last Friday. I was in bad need of a cut. She was doing well; the post-surgery hand is still a bit weak, but the magic was still in them. Thanks, Faye, for working it on me.
As we approach the July 4th holiday, I am reminded how fortunate we are to have the freedoms we have here in America. I thank God that He is still blessing our nation and pray He never takes His hand of protection from us. Travis and I were a little bit late getting out Sunday morning, so we drove over to First Baptist for worship service.
It was a very good service. I am sorry we didn’t make the service at Redeemer at House today, but we did worship. That is the important thing, isn’t it? That is another of our freedoms of worship. I try to be in service at the home church as often as I can, but I enjoy visiting other churches now and then.
Jade and Kolby Welch and Angelique Williams enjoyed a mini-vacation with Brandy and CJ to Florida. Jade said they had fun.
I would love to hear reports of July 4th celebrations, if you would text or leave a voice mail or send an email. I will put them in my column. Another shout out to our service men and women who bravely work and fight to keep our country free and independent.
Until next week, God bless and keep you.
