Welcome to “The Little Town with a Big Heart”
Two Hickory residents deaths were a shock for the community. They say that death comes in three’s, this time they were four. One of the most recent death was Dannie Walker, then Mike Brackeen Sr. now the shock of the terrible loss of our deacon and greeter of GUBC Bro. Gerald Matlock.
Bro. Gerald will be missed by him greeting people at the door with a hug and bulletin. He was the “biggest Amen” person and would say come “come on brother while brother was preaching.” He will be missed by his wife, Ms. Sharon and daughter and son in law, Cara and Rex Jones.
Then Raymond Walker passed way on Thursday May 24, at home unexpected. Services are incomplete at this writing. He will be missed by his family, friends and all that knew him. His mother, Abertine Walker just passed away in January. Our sympathy is with each family.
