Welcome to “The Little Town with a Big Heart”
Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mothers. Here is an inspiring story for Mother’s Day. A Debt to Mother — by Bill Ronan
We have a massive debt, it’s one we can’t repay, it’s a debt that we will carry to our dying day. For clothing us when naked and warming us when cold, for giving us protection within a loving hold, for teaching us the difference between what’s right and wrong, for soothing out our infant worries with a softly spoken song, for guiding us through childhood and opening up our eyes, for leading us to adulthood with words so often wise, for teaching us with honesty that we were so unique, for laughing at our silly jokes and listening when we speak, A debt so large and special the like there is no other, this debt and so much very more we owe it to our mother!

The Liberty Community Club met on Monday, March 9 with 20 members present. Our speaker was Michael Aycox, candidate for U.S. Congress. Michael spoke of his military experience and training. His number one target is the V.A. system, then the health care costs, education and gun control. He wants to help Mississippi with new jobs.
Michael lives right here in Newton County as does his parents and grandparents. He would support term limits. Ruby Boutwell gave the devotion, and the “Word for Today” was “cherished possession.” Always have a sm
ile on your face as you live through today. The group enjoyed a delicious pot luck supper. Next month our speaker will be Murry Weems, Newton mayor at 6 p.m. May 14. See you then.
