This past week, my step-father-in law travelled to Greenwood for the day for some errands. While there, we stopped for lunch at the Crystal Grill. It’s apparently a very famous place, and it’s definitely worth bragging about.
After enjoying our delicious lunch, it came time for the worst part of the dining experience, the bill and tip. When it comes to tipping a server, how do you determine how much you leave? Do you go based on 10 or 15 percent of the bill?
Do you judge by how well the server served? Do you just leave the same amount no matter the restaurant or server?
I’ve had my experience in that of a server’s shoes, so I have a heart towards the ones who wait on me.
But how many times are we guilty of giving more to server at the local diner than we give God? Oh sure it’s easy to leave $5 on the table for $20 supper. However, we find it too difficult to put just 10 percent of a paycheck in the plate on Sunday.
God does so much for us, much more than just bringing our plates or refilling our sweet tea, but we seem to give more to those wearing an apron. And after all He does, He just asks for the tiny 10 percent right off the top. People just seem to overlook the idea of tithing until they do it and actually see what it does. Once tithing becomes a priority, you’ll realize you can’t afford not to tithe!
Another month has come and gone, and summer vacation is about to begin! I hope everyone gets the chance to soak up some sun and enjoy the weather before it gets so hot you believe you’re going to melt!
I would like to give a special birthday shout out to the two most important men in my life. My daddy, David Bradley, and my husband, Brad Taylor. I love you both so much, and I hope you both enjoy your special day!
I hope everyone has a very blessed week! Please keep me updated on community news and prayer requests by emailing me at bradley.katie93@gmail.com.
