Pastor Clif Crosby II of Union Pentecostal Church, located on Old Hwy. 15/CR 321/North Street, announces the church will have a youth rally on Friday, June 1 at 7 p.m. The guest speaker will be Brother Ethan Wade.
I hear every week from my friend Pamela Carron, who is on a house-sitting gig in Belize. The pictures she sends are beautiful, with tropical flowers blooming everywhere, and fruit trees which I can only imagine. She is working on a new book while she is there.
I can’t wait to read it.
Next Saturday, June 2 at 10 a.m. the Newton/Neshoba Chapter of the Mississippi Writers Guild will meet at the Union Opry House behind Piggly Wiggly. If you are a writer or want to be, need a peer group for support and information, or if you know someone who does, join us on Saturday.
I would like to welcome my newest great-great-nephew. Asher Paul Mason arrived while I was in West Monroe, on May 17 at 8:05 p.m. Asher is the son of Mary and Matt Mason of Union, now living and in school at Starkville. Denise Mason is the maternal grandmother and my niece. Great going Mary and Matt.
Adding to Denise’s family joy was the engagement announcement of her son Cody (Matt’s twin brother) and long-time sweetheart, Kayla Everett. Congratulations Cody and Kayla.
I am writing on Sunday and I hope everyone who has the Memorial Day holiday off tomorrow, will enjoy your cookouts, family time, or just relaxing, while taking time to remember those brave warriors who sacrificed their own lives for our freedom.
Be in prayer the families they left behind. Remember that this holiday is in remembrance of those who gave their lives in service. I will be working, but I will definitely remember to be thankful for all of these men and women.
May the Lord keep you in His care until we meet again here next week.
I hope everyone has a blessed week and makes some good memories. Send your news or items of interest to me by email at gingersnapwelch@gmail.com or text or voicemail me at 601-504-3146.
