One of the most upsetting stories in the New Testament is the healing of the ten lepers. Ten men sick with disease begged Jesus to heal them. Jesus did His miraculous works and healed them all. The aggravating part of the st
ory is after they were healed, they ran away to do their own thing, except for one.
The one showed humble gratitude and thanked Jesus for healing him. Now, while we get upset at this story and how the other nine went their ways without thanking Jesus, we are guilty of the very same thing. Those shoes you just put on, did you say “Thank you, Lord”? What about that car that gets you to work? What about that breath you just took? We are so guilty of taking God and His many blessings for granted. I remember hearing my mother in law say a quote not to long ago: what if you woke up tomorrow with only what you thanked God for today?
A lot of us would be lacking tomorrow!
Please continue to pray for Baby Cleve Jones and Mr. Tommy Walters. In both cases, news from the doctors haven’t been so uplifting, but we serve a mighty God who is the “Great Physician.” Pray that things go better for them this week, and also remember their family members who are enduring the struggles with them.
