The Newton County Chapter of the Mississippi State Alumni Association will meet at 6 p.m. July 18, at the Union Station Fish House. All alumni, friends of MSU and Bulldog fans are invited to attend.

Opportunity
Hope Missions Newton Store is soliciting volunteers to assist with merchandise cleanup, stocking, sorting, cleaning, organizing and even building projects. Newton County Elementary Kindergarten
Pre-Registration
Newton County Elementary School will host Kindergarten Pre-registration for students entering as the Class of 2032 (students turning 5 years of age on or before Sept. 1, 2019) from 3:30-6:30 pm Thursday, April 25. Progress Report Card Pick-up for current students will be from 4-5:30 pm. An on-site Food Truck, a PTO Fundraiser, will be available to families during this time.
Natural Resource Community Center Meeting
The Natural Resources Community Center is having a meeting May 7 at 6 p.m. with a meal to follow. The speaker will be Andy Gipson. The cost will be $13.95 per person. Contact Newton County WCD office for tickets at 601-635-2327. Tickets may also be purchased at the door the night of the meeting.
Newton County High School Drama Department
Performance
The Newton County High School Drama Department will perform “Arsenic and Old Lace,” beginning at 6 p.m. May 14, in the NCHS Gymnasium. Admission is $1. The public is invited.
Decatur High School Class of 1978 and 1979 Reunion

Newton County Middle and High School Choirs Spring Concert
The Newton Count Middle and High school choirs will host their Spring Concert in the NCHS gymnasium beginning at 6 p.m., Thursday, May 2. The public is invited.
Union Day
The Union Chamber of Commerce invites everyone to attend its annual Union Day festival, Saturday, June 15, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. The festival will feature a car show, parade, food and craft vendors, political speeches, a talent show and entertainment.
Decatur Woman’s Progressive Club Youth Arts Recognition Tea
The Decatur Woman’s Progressive Club is hosting an Arts Recognition Tea to honor our area youth. The tea will be held Sunday, May 5, from 2-3 p.m. in the Vickers Fine Arts Building at East Central Community College, Decatur. Light refreshments will be served. Come and enjoy the talents of our area youth.
