Welcome to “The Little Town with a Big Heart”
Dr. Cherry Clark and Nurse Wanda Dearing have retired and are very concerned about the community and their patients.
Dr. Clark is working with Dr. Lee Valentine and Dr. Sarah Grabmiller with the EC-HealthNet Family Medicine Residency Program to keep the clinic open until a long-term plan can be put into place.
The clinic will remain open Monday - Thursday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. with family medicine physicians four days per week.
Full medical services, including lab, immunizations, physicals, health maintenance and treatment of chronic diseases, will be available.
There will also be walk-in coverage at their clinic in Meridian on Friday.
Welcome to our new physicians!
All patients are encouraged to come by and meet the doctors and staff and welcome them to Hickory.
The clinic name and the phone number will remain the same.
We would appreciate your patience as we learn who you are and how we can be there to help in the future.
I Am Always with You
When I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so many things to see and do, you mustn't tie yourself to me with too many tears, But be thankful we had so many good years. I gave you my love, and you can only guess How much you've given me in happiness. I thank you for the love that you have shown, But now it is time I traveled on alone
So grieve for me a while, if grieve you must. Then let your grief be comforted by trust that it is only for a while that we must part. So treasure the memories within your heart. I won't be far away for life goes on. And if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can't see or touch me, I will be near, and if you listen with your heart, you'll hear all my love around you soft and clear and then, when you come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile and a "welcome home.”
Liberty Community News
Joedy Pennington was the guest speaker at Liberty Community Club in June. He spoke about phone scams including the IRS, Publisher’s Clearing House and cruises. On your phones, you can get scams about shootings and security needs from some fake news companies. We had quite a long discussion on the different scams on the elderly especially.
Ruby Boutwell gave our devotion “Is your name written down in the Lamb's Book of Life?” from Revelation 21:27. We enjoyed our ice cream supper with all the trimmings.
Next month we will hear from Larry and Minnie Gressett and Sam and Sharon Thornton on their trip to The Ark and Creation Museum. They meet the second Monday every month at 6 p.m. Y’all come!
