Sherry Burks Johnson, 52, of Marion, Mississippi, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 8, 2020, at Anderson’s Regional Medical Center in Meridian, Mississippi. She was born Monday, Nov. 13, 1967 in Newton, Mississippi.
Private Family Graveside Services were held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Hickory City Cemetery. Bro. Dennis Duvall and Rev. Vicki Gladding officiated. Sherry was a graduate of West Alabama University and University of Southern Mississippi and received her Bachelor of Nursing Degree to become a Registered Nurse. She was employed by Rush Foundation Hospital Specialty and Wound Care. Sherry’s entire career was spent serving and caring for others. She was very passionate and committed to her family and patients. Sherry had an inseparable bond with her three year old son, Brody.
Survivors include her husband, Eric Johnson; her parents, Charles and Carolyn Burks; her son, Brody Johnson; her step-son, Joshua Boyette; two nephews, Gage Boyd and Jagger Boyd; sister-in-law, Dena Boyd (Randy); brother-in-law, Mike Johnson; mother-in-law, Sandy Johnson; and a special friend, Sonia Farrar.
Pallbearers will be Gage Boyd, Jagger Boyd, Randy Boyd, Eric Lee and Robbie Jones.
The family would like to say a special “Thank You” to all the medical staff at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center, 4-East. And a special thanks to Josslyn Knop, Kristi Myers, Kristin Parker and Sarah Dodd for their dedicated care. To Ellen Taylor, Sherry’s boss and best friend, thank you for everything. Thank you also to the Specialty and Wound Care departments of Rush Foundation Hospital where Sherry worked.
