The Newton County Academy softball team lost two games last week.
NCA fell to Canton 7-2 on Monday and 12-11 on Tuesday.
NCA, now 11-15 on the season, was scheduled to play at Porter’s Chapel on Monday and host them on Tuesday.
Canton 7, NCA 2
The Lady Panthers banged out 10 hits and used a four-run fifth inning to take a five-run win over the Lady Generals on Monday.
Canton scored one in the third, four in the fifth and two in the sixth. NCA scored its two runs in the fifth.
NCA had just three hits as Adriane Luke was 2-for-3 with two doubled. Maggie Vance also singled for the Lady Generals.
Marli Claire Kelly pitched all seven innings and gave up seven runs on 10 hits and eight hits while striking out four.
Canton 12, NCA 11
The Lady Panthers two runs in the bottom of the seventh to take a walk-off win on Tuesday.
NCA trailed 8-4 after four innings before scoring five runs in the fifth to go up 9-8. Canton scored single runs in the fifth and sixth to go back up 10-9. NCA scored two in the top of the seventh while the Lady Panthers scored two in the bottom of the frame.
NCA had eight his in the contest, led by Maggie Vance who was 3-for-5 while Adriane Luke was 2-for-4 with a double. Sophia Munn also doubled, walked twice, scored three runs and had three RBIs. Bristal Miller and Bella Nelson each scored two runs apiece for NCA.
Munn pitched all six innings for NCA, giving up 12 runs with only three earned on 12 hits and five walks while striking out eight.
