The Newton County Academy Lady Generals got in three games last week with a pair of old rivals.
The Lady Generals fell 3-1 to Sylva-Bay last week and then beat Kemper Academy twice, 5-0 on Tuesday and 7-5 on Thursday.
NCA is scheduled to return to action this week as they play at Sylva-Bay this week and at Lamar Christian on Thursday.
Sylva-Bay 3, NCA 1
The Lady Saints used a big fifth inning to take a two-run win over the Lady Generals on Monday.
NCA scored one run in the first while Sylva-Bay scored three in the fifth.
NCA had three hits as Maggie Vance doubled. Sophie Munn and Adriane Luke each doubled.
Sydnee Cosgrove pitched all seven innings and gave up three unearned runs on five hits and a walk while striking out nine.
NCA 5, Kemper 0
The Lady Generals pulled away late and took a win over the Lady Rams on Tuesday.
NCA scored two in the second and three in the seventh to take the win.
NCA had 11 hits in the contest, led by Adriane Luke, who was 3-for-4 with a double. Jamie Stamper was 2-for-3 and scored a run while Sophia Munn was 2-for-4 and scored a run. Maggie Vance and Addisyn Fox each singled and scored a run for the Lady Generals.
Sydnee Cosgrove started in the circle and pitched three innings, giving up just one hit. MC Kelly pitched the last four innings and gave up four hits and one walk.
NCA 7, Kemper 5
The Lady Generals used a big first inning and took a two-run win over the Lady Rams on Thursday.
Kemper scored two in the first and NCA answered with four in the bottom of the frame. Kemper added one in the third and two in the top of the fifth to lead 5-4. But NCA answered with two in the bottom of the fifth and one in the sixth to take the win.
NCA had six hits and took advantage of seven errors. Adriane Luke was 2-for-3 with a double while Addison Mathis doubled and scored a run. Addisyn Fox was also 2-for-3 with an RBI. Sydnee Cosgrove also singled and scored while Maggie Vance, Kelsey Tibbets and Jamie Stamper each scored a run.
